A trip to Uganda

Green pearl on the edge of the equator, Uganda is a garden that will surely enchant your senses.

The large lakes and the Rwenzori chain make it a land rich in water, with lush vegetation and great biodiversity, delighted by an extremely pleasant temperate climate thanks to the altitude that rarely drops below one thousand meters and the influence of Lake Victoria.

The rediscovered political tranquility makes it one of the most sought after by ecotourism enthusiasts.

From the Lake Victoria, the largest of the continent, Uganda is born the Nile, the longest river in Africa, where the legendary shoebill still stands, a very rare prehistoric bird. The search for the mythical sources of the Nile became the obsession of the explorers in the late 1800s and their discovery meant the discovery of the most remote and hidden corner of Africa.

Primary forests and mountain gorillas

Uganda has primary forests never touched by man and in which an infinite number of different species have found refuge, of which many are endemic: 350 types of birds, 200 of butterflies, more than 80 types of mammals of which at least 14 different primates including the now very rare mountain gorillas. The gorilla-trekking is certainly one of the main attractions of the country. A long and patient work has made it possible to accustom these great primates to the presence of human beings for a short time every day, making it possible to observe them closely. Looking into the eyes of these myths and peaceful giants will remain an unforgettable emotion.

Tree-lined savannas and birdwaching

Traveling through Uganda you will pass through tree-lined savannas populated by large mammals (elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, leopards, lions), swamps and marshes, a birdwatcher's paradise, the equatorial forest in whose dense plot twirl primates. As far as the eye can see, there are vegetable gardens and plantations on the fertile hills from which this hard-working people obtain fruit and vegetables for a large part of East Africa. The Rift Valley Albertina, the great rift between tectonic plates that from Ethiopia to Tanzania was the cradle of humanity, is home to large lakes and drier environments.
